Adjuvant Therapy
To date there is no one treatment that brings
about a cure every time it is used which is
why multi-modality therapy - surgery,
radiation and chemotherapy - has developed.
If either or both chemotherapy and radiation treatments
are given following surgery they are termed adjuvant
therapies.
Current thinking is that if you have malignant pleural
mesothelioma between stages I to III and are in good
physical condition then you should benefit from
adjuvant radiation and/or chemotherapy treatments.
